Competition Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Entrants are deemed to have accepted the following Terms & Conditions and agree to be bound by them when entering any competition[s] administrated by Performances Birmingham Limited.

No purchase is necessary.

Please see individual competition rules for how to enter.

By entering the competition, entrants automatically give consent for their entries to be used in any competition publicity.

Entrants under 18 years old must gain permission to submit their entries from a parent or guardian.

Multiple entries are permitted, unless specified, and do not increase the chance of winning.

Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

Performances Birmingham Limited do not accept any responsibility for late, lost or incomplete entries.

Employees of Performances Birmingham Limited and all competition partners, their immediate families, agents, or anyone connected professionally with the promotion are not eligible to enter any competition[s] administrated by Performances Birmingham Limited.

Performances Birmingham Limited reserve the right to cancel any competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in their opinion or if circumstances arise which are outside of their control.

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Competition prize[s] will be sent to winners by Performances Birmingham Limited within 28 days of the winner being notified, unless specified.

Performances Birmingham Limited take no liability for items lost in transit.

No cash alternative is available.

All competition prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Any prize[s] remaining unclaimed or uncollected by winners after 28 days of winners being contacted, will be deemed to have been forfeited and Performances Birmingham Limited reserve the right to either re-offer the prize[s] to the next correct entrant drawn at random, or to re-offer the prize[s] in a future competition.

ALIEN OF THE YEARADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Alien of the Year competition [hereafter referred to as ‘the competition’] opens at 10am on Friday 13 August and closes at 5pm on Monday 4 October.

Entries can be submitted by uploading video or image files to the Sounds of Space pages and accounts on Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, Twitter and Vimeo via:

Entries can also be submitted to the Sounds of Space team via email using the address digital@thsh.co.uk – entries submitted this way will be uploaded to the Sounds of Space pages within a week of submission.

Entrants must include their first name and location with entries.

Copyright to all entries submitted remains with the original creator.

By entering ‘the competition’, entrants automatically give consent for their designs, first name, age and location to be featured on Flickr, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

The four most apt and original entries will be selected by Professor Ian Stewart before the What Would A Martian Look Like talk at Symphony Hall on Thursday 7 October 2010.

Winners will be then be contacted personally by email or via the social media originally used to submit their entry.

Winners’ names will be available on request.

The time and date of the private, personalised planetarium show is to be mutually agreed between the winner and Thinktank, and this prize must be redeemed before 28 February 2011. Maximum group size is 20.

A signed limited edition print by David A. Hardy to be collected from Town Hall or Symphony Hall by agreement between the winner and Performances Birmingham Limited within 28 days of the winner being notified.

National Space Centre and Thinktank family tickets will be sent by post to winners within 28 days of ‘the competition’ ending.

THSH TOP TEN AT MOSELEY FOLK FESTIVALADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The THSH Top Ten at Moseley Folk Festival competition [hereafter referred to as ‘the competition’] opens at 6pm on Friday 3 September 2010 and closes at 10pm on Monday 6 September 2010.

Entries can be submitted via wall posts on www.facebook.com/townhallsymphonyhall and by tweeting @THSHBirmingham via www.twitter.com. Tweets must be tagged with the hashtag #thshtopten to qualify.

The most original entry will be selected on Monday 6 September.

Winners will then be contacted and notified via the website originally used to submit their entry.

Winner receives a pair of tickets to each of the following concerts worth £387:

Salif Keita, Norma Waterson & Eliza Carthy, Joanna Newsom, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Blazin’ Fiddles, Middle East Peace Orchestra, Seth Lakeman, Maddy Prior, Jim Moray Band and Tom Paxton.

YOUR CHANCE TO MEET RUTHIE HENSHALADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Your chance to meet Ruthie Henshall competition [hereafter referred to as ‘the competition’] opens at 6pm on Wednesday 1 September 2010 and closes on Wednesday 15 September 2010.

To enter ‘the competition’ an entrant must be a valid recipient of the email (available to the addressee only) and call the box office between 1 September and 15 September 2010 to register.

Five winners will be drawn randomly from all entries received and notified by email.

The prize is the opportunity for five patrons and their guests to attend an exclusive meet and greet with Ruthie Henshall after the show on 2 November.
