Civic Launch for International Season

Lord Mayor Cllr Chauhdry Rashid and Lady Mayoress Mrs Shafait Begum Rashid attended the opening night of the 2008/09 Birmingham International Concert Season on 7 October.

The Budapest Festival Orchestra, conducted by Iván Fischer, launched the new Season with a performance of Mahler’s Third Symphony. The Birmingham International Concert Season is the largest series of visiting orchestras and musicians of its kind outside London.
