nutkhut’s Bollywood Steps, created by Simmy Gupta, is a unique outdoor dance spectacular that forms the centrepiece of Town Hall’s 175th anniversary celebrations and Birmingham’s Light Night. The 40 minute show celebrates all the classic Bollywood moments in a series of dazzling dance numbers, with lighting, fireworks, colourful costumes and water effects.
Bollywood Steps premiered at Trafalgar Square in 2004. Since then it has performed to over 200,000 people and was last seen as the finale of Edinburgh’s 2009 Hogmanay celebrations. One of the UK’s most exciting large-scale outdoor shows, it has been presented in a range of settings, from football stadiums (Wembley) to cathedrals and stately homes.
Bollywood Steps builds up to a magnificent wedding scene where, if you like, you can join a moment of mass audience participation – all set against the spectacular architectural backdrop of Town Hall.
