Jack Liebeck

Jack Liebeck

Wild landscapes, swirling mists, skirling pipes and Highland reels – they all feature in Mendelssohn’s gloriously romantic Scottish Symphony. No wonder it’s a personal favourite of the CBSO’s popular assistant conductor Michael Seal. En route, though, come two more romantic adventures: Beethoven’s stirring hymn to freedom, and the teenage Mozart’s courtly Third Violin Concerto – surely the most elegant concerto even he ever composed.
